Welcome to my e-Portfolio!


Welcome to my e-Portfolio. My name is Addison Kassof, and this collection shows how my writing has grown throughout ENC 2135. Each project I completed helped me understand how to shape my message based on who I am writing for and what I want to say. In this portfolio, I included a revised version of one of my major projects that shows how I used feedback to improve my writing. I also added two artifacts that show how I planned, practiced, and developed new writing skills like using rhetorical appeals and considering different formats. Finally, I included a reflective statement where I explain what I learned during the course and how I will use these lessons in the future. Creating this portfolio helped me see how much progress I have made and how much more confident I feel as a writer now. Thanks for checking it out!

Project 1 Reflection

  When I first started this project, my research question was,“To what extent do social comparison behaviors on social media contribute to negative mental health in young adults?” As I continued, I realized the question was too wordy and complex, so I simplified it to “How does comparison through social media affect young adults’ mental health?” This version helped me stay focused and write more clearly. What surprised me the most was how consistent the findings were across different studies. I expected mixed results, but almost every source showed a clear connection between social media comparison and mental health struggles like depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. It also surprised me how strongly things like rumination and addictive scrolling patterns could influence mental health.
